Veterans
Foundation Incorporated
Our Mission
VFI's refined mission is to fill the educational gaps
of our nation's youth relative to the military and improve
awareness and pride in our armed forces and the men and
women who serve and who have served our country so well.
Our
History
VFI was founded over twenty years ago by two Vietnam
Combat Veterans and two Vietnam Era veterans whom wanted
to give back to the veteran community. Their vision
was to establish a functioning entity capable of performing
a fiduciary role in orchestrating and funding veteran-related
projects. VFI was officially incorporated on July 29,
1980.
VFI
was formed as a non-profit, non-political, non-membership
organization and operates exclusively for charitable
purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of
the Internal Revenue Code.
VFI
is authorized to exercise all of its corporate powers,
rights and privileges and is in good legal standing
in the State of California.
Our
Future
In an effort to promote a new Millennium of patriotism,
VFI's charitable focus is educating America's youth
about the history and peace time roles of the military
and enhancing the morale of our men and women in uniform
today via the annual production of the American
Veteran Awards. VFI's volunteer staff, most of whom
never served in the military, strives to instill a sense
of pride back into the mainstream of America and help
make generations to come feel
"Proud to be
an American!"
