The "American Veteran Awards" (AVA) is America's only award show that honors our country's past, present and future military and promotes the U.S. Armed Force's role in everyday society.

The AVA Show will be broadcast on The History Channel in early 2002 and will also be available on our site via video-on-demand. The show will take place in Beverly Hills on November 30, 2001. Fittingly dubbed "The Academy Awards honoring our military," the show is not a fund-raiser.

Uniting celebrities and dignitaries with the CEOs of the military and corporate America, the show serves as a tool to bring American patriotism back to a position of prominence in the country and helps educate our youth about the history and peacetime roles of the military.

The word 'Ava' (Latin/ Hebrew origin) means "to desire," and relative to the American Veteran Awards means "to desire to show pride in our country."

AVA's volunteer staff, most of whom never served in the military, strives to instill a sense of pride back into the mainstream of America and help make generations feel "Proud to be an American!"

AVA Objectives:

Preserve the legacy of famous veterans;

Recognize supporters of veterans and our active-duty military;

Instill pride and help bridge the gap between society and soldier;

Deliver the only awards show that promotes patriotism by honoring Hollywood's Silent Majority;

Educate America's youth and the public-at-large about the honorable peacetime role of the armed forces;

Unite celebrities, dignitaries, corporate executives with Generals and Admirals;

Strengthen support of veterans and our military within the entertainment industry and corporate America;

Arrange a platform for notable patriotic sponsors to showcase their products or services.

AVA ENTERTAINERS
A vast number of notable celebrities in the fields of motion pictures, television, music, art and sports are veterans of our country's armed forces or the immediate family of veterans. They constitute the "Hollywood Silent Majority," unrealized by the public at large and waiting for the proper forum to publicly express pride in their veteran status and to shine a light on the deserving men and women who serve our great nation so faithfully.

AVA attracts a myriad of entertainers who have no direct veteran or military connection but generously give their time to support, perform or attend.
